Keith Warner Fredrickson, 21, was recently sentenced to 12 years in state prison for committing an armed robbery in Simi Valley.

Fredrickson entered Donuts Plus on Dec. 1, 2004 and pointed a handgun at the store clerk. Fredrickson demanded the clerk hand over all the money in the cash register. Fredrickson fled the store after taking $89. The robbery was recorded on the store surveillance video.

The next night, a Simi Valley Police Department officer pulled over Fredrickson's car, in which he was riding as a passenger, to investigate a possible DUI driver. During a search of the car, the officers found a loaded gun in the glove box that resembled the gun used in the robbery. After additional investigation, Fredrickson was identified as the robber.

Fredrickson pleaded no contest on May 31 to using a handgun during the commission of a robbery and to having a loaded concealed firearm in his vehicle.
