The Simi Valley Acorn has been, and will continue to be, a community newspaper focused on the families and people who receive our publication each week.

Last week, a flier inserted into the newspaper contained what we consider inappropriate content for a community newspaper. The advertisement was not authorized by our editorial or sales staff and was mistakenly distributed with the newspaper.

We've taken steps to ensure that such an incident will not happen again. Thank you to those readers who called to talk with us about the advertisement and for understanding that its content was not representative of our group of family owned newspapers
