Free public demonstration of historically based card game

2006-07-21 / On The Town

Brian Dennert, a Simi Valley history teacher, will be demonstrating the new History Channel card game called Anachronism at a free event from 5 to 7 p.m. Fri., July 28 at Hidden Fortress Comics and Collectibles, 1960 Sequoia Ave., No. 9 (behind the Med Center), Simi Valley.

The demonstration will provide players with everything they need to participate, including instructions and cards.

To play Anachronism: The Greatest Game in History, players pick a warrior from more than 20 different cultures around the world and his support cards, and then face off against each other.

Players determine the outcome through strategy and rolls of the dice.

The game is not collectible and cards are easy to obtain. It can be learned in minutes and creates a curiosity to find out more about history.

Dennert enjoys Anachronism because "it is historically accurate and exposes players to so much history while having a fun time."

The game is appropriate for ages 7 and up.

For more information, call Dennert at (805) 501-1939 or Hidden Fortress at (805) 5266457 or e-mail Dennert at briandennert@yahoo.com.
