The Simi Valley Farmers' Market & Family Festival will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday beginning today, Fri., July 21 in the parking lot near Dakota's Great Steakhouse at the Simi Valley Town Center, north of Highway 118 between First Street and Erringer Road.

Produced by FMOCIH Corp. of Ventura, the market will feature local fresh produce, food, children's activities, arts and crafts, live music and entertainment with seating for customers.

This will be the first farmers' market in Simi Valley since 1999.

Previously, two separate farmer's markets were staged on a vacant lot at Tapo and Eileen streets from 1998 to 1999.

"This market will be bigger than the old one on Tapo Street," said Mark Rochin of FMOCIH,

"and will have children's activities like a pony ride, petting zoo, inflatable slides and obstacle courses." Also ongoing this summer at the mall is a music series on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and a Kids Club every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
