Air Force Cadet Dathan K. Salgado recently graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Spring, Colo. He received a bachelor's of science degree in aeronautical engineering

While a student at the Academy, he won a national bronze medal as a member of the school's boxing team.

Salgado was commissioned as a second lieutenant and is scheduled to attend undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas.

Salgado is the son of Hector and Deborah Salgado of Simi Valley and a 2000 graduate of Royal High School.
