Terry Marvin has been named Rotarian of the Year for the Rotary Club of Simi Valley. For almost two years Marvin has been a member of the noontime club, which has about 75 members.

"I am very much honored to receive this recognition. I truly enjoy being a Rotarian and embrace its philosophy of service to the community and the world," said Marvin.

Marvin was recognized for her dedication and hard work during the past club year. She served as the director of communications, editor of the newsletter, and chair person for the club's 29th annual charity golf tournament.

She also volunteered for community projects sponsored by the club, such as the annual Pancake Breakfast at the Simi Valley Senior Center, Arroyo Clean-up, serving dinner to the homeless at the Samaritan Center, walking in the Relay for Life, and writing letters to service men and women for the holidays.

"Terry exemplifies the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" through her tireless dedication to our club and projects in our community. We are honored to have her as a member of our club," said Barbara Frova, club president.
