Bard Arrives at CLU Annual Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival kicks off at 8 p.m. tonight on the campus of California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, with the Shakespeare comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a 1930s Southern-style updating. Park Shuttle Expands National Park Service will celebrate the new connection between the MTA 161 and the MTA Orange Line and its ParkLink Shuttle service that travels on weekends to parks within a region of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area at 10:30 a.m. at Malibu Creek State Park, Calabasas with dignitaries, park officials, live music, hands-on park exhibits and scavenger hunts for children. Garden Happenings The Conejo Valley Botanic Garden, 350 W. Gainsborough Road, Thousand Oaks, will host a sale of native and water-wise plants from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet the 'Wizard of Oz' Gypsies in a Trunk will present their comedic interpretation of the adventures of Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion when they bring "The Wizard of Oz" to Foxfield Park in Westlake Village at 11 a.m. and repeat the show at 4 p.m. at Rancho Simi Bicentennial Amphitheater in Rancho Simi Park, Simi Valley. Camarillo's Fine Artists The Studio Channel Islands Art Center, on the campus of California State University at Channel Islands, Building 18 on Ventura Street, Camarillo, hosts an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. for the "Putting on Airs" exhibit featuring works in all media by their artistsin-residence. The show will continue from July 1 to 22. Mixed media sculpture, oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors and fiber art will be displayed in four galleries by 22 artists.
