SOMETHING TO SMILE ABOUT-Kim Baldwin, 26, of Thousand Oaks, and Courtney Dunwoody, 25, of Simi Valley are preparing to receive their nurse's pins during graduation exercises at Moorpark College. Moorpark College recently graduated 32 new nurses in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at the campus Performing Arts Center. The graduates will be eligible to take the Registered Nursing examination.

The ceremony included recognition of the Moorpark College Nursing Association officers, and awards for participants in the Volunteers 4 You! and American Red Cross.

Professor Frank Bianchino was the guest speaker.

The traditional pinning ceremony included recitation of the nurse's pledge and a candlelighting, symbolizing the profession's beginning with Florence Nightingale going into the battlefield with a lantern.

The graduates include the following local residents:

Moorpark: Erica Horst, Melissa Navarro and Ashley Samaniego

Simi Valley: Shannon Cordova, Paris Crespo, Courtney Dunwoody, James Hartley, Melissa Luyet, Diana Miles, Marta Poulet, Christina Schmider, Melissa Steffen, Adriana Trujillo, Beatriz Yap and Beatriz Yarnell
