Job centers can provide a head's-up
Residents can improve job skills or find a better job through services at Human Service Agency's local Job & Career Centers (JCC), including job search assistance, on-the-job training, vocational training and post-employment support.
Community members are invited to attend an orientation on Tuesdays at the East County JCC in Simi Valley.
"These orientations will help local residents learn the many programs offered to them through the JCCs," said Alex Garcia, work-force programs manager for Business and Employment Services Department.
"From finding jobs to climbing the career ladder, these programs provide excellent resources for adults, including lowincome and dislocated workers," said Garcia.
For information on the orientations, call (805) 955-2287.
JCC provides convenient, countywide access to a variety of employment and support services for those transitioning to work or into new careers.
The centers also offer assistance to employers that include human resource services, subsidized employee and candidate training, use of facilities for interviews and other recruitment activities, job fairs and outplacement. For more information, call (805) 652-7802.
