Health plan provides center for seniors
During this year's observance of Older Americans Month in May, SCAN Health Plan invites local seniors to visit the health plan's recently opened Senior Connections Resource Center at 1001 Partridge Drive, Suite 200 in Ventura and get the information they need to remain healthy and better manage their life.
Staffed by community resource specialists, the center is where seniors or their loved ones can get help with finding the services they may need in a relaxed setting.
At the center, visitors can: access information on health improvement and management, connect to important resources in the community, have free Internet access to the Healthwise Knowledgebase, attend presentations on health topics and healthful food samples, access weight and blood pressure self-management equipment, and obtain fallprevention information and attend fall-prevention classes.
Presentations are generally on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m.
