Several of the top freestyle motocross riders in the world will compete in the inaugural ConejoX Invitational at 7 p.m. Wed., May 3 in the rodeo arena at Conejo Valley Days on Janss Road south of the Thousand Oaks Library. This judged competition, spon

sored by the Army, features "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram and other riders with X Games and Dew Tour.

Bartram has been one of the most accomplished freestyle riders. His achievements include 11 X Games and Gravity Games medals, four of them gold, and winning the 2005 Dew Cup Championship.

The event includes a best trick contest and music from After Midnight Project. The riders will then be available for an autograph session afterwards.

The head judge will be Demangos, who has extensive experience as a rider and judge at the X Games and other Freestyle events. The first prize is sponsored by Mountain Dew.

Producer Kevin J Rock said, "The fun of freestyle motocross is it's exciting for the whole family. The tricks these riders pull off in mid-air get more unbelievable every time they hit the ramp."

Gate fee for Conejo Valley Days is $6 for adults and less for children. Tickets for the ConejoX Invitational will be available at the arena gate for $12.

All active duty Armed Forces personnel can attend the fair for free and will receive a $2 discount for ConejoX with their military ID.

Another $2 discount is available to anyone bringing a 20-ounce Mountain Dew or Pepsi bottle to the ConejoX ticket window.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Youth Soccer Organization.
