BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers FATALITY-A 27-year-old Simi Valley man died at the hospital Wednesday after his black 2001 Dodge pickup truck veered off the 118 Freeway at about 5 p.m. and struck the Sycamore Drive offramp sign's support pole. The unidentified driver, who was alone in the truck, suffered major trauma, and succumbed to his injuries at Simi Valley Hospital. Anyone with information on why the driver lost control of his truck, resulting in the unexplained crash, is urged to call the Moorpark office of the California Highway Patrol at (805) 553-0800.
