Film screened to remember the Holocaust

The Jewish Life Center of Simi Valley will screen the film "Paper Clips" at 7 p.m. Sun., April 30 at the Simi Valley Cul

tural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley to commemorate Holocaust Remember Day (Yom HaShoah).

The public is invited to this free event. The movie is rated "G."

The 2004 documentary was filmed at Whitwell Middle School in rural Tennessee. To understand the concept of six million Holocaust victims, the students decided to collect six million paper clips.

The film shows how the students met Holocaust survivors from around the world and how the experience transformed them and their community.

Refreshments will be served and there will be an information discussion following the screening.

Seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

The event is co-sponsored by Congregation B'Nai Emet and the Simi Valley Arts Council.
