Work Training partners with area businesses
Work Training Programs (WTP) Inc., a private nonprofit organization that provides employment training and support services to individuals with disadvantages and disabilities in Ventura County, has begun new partnerships with area employers: the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, Krembs Inc., Minimus.biz and Allstate's Craig S. Weiss.
WTP's clerical group prepares the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce's monthly newsletter, labeling and sorting more than 400 pieces for each mailing.
Krembs Inc., a provider for the beauty supply industry, will use four trainees to assemble various product kits for use in salons and beauty schools nationwide.
Minimus.biz, which provides travel and trial-size items, has provided work to several areas of WTP, including the group-supported employment and mental health programs. Trainees are learning how to identify products, assemble and pack orders for mailing, and are working on volunteer projects for the national nonprofit, "Soldiers' Angels."
The Weiss Insurance Agency, experiencing rapid growth, enlisted WTP volunteers and has also hired the clerical group to prepare pamphlets and marketing materials for community events.
For more information about internships, volunteering or hiring, call Susan Sheppard of WTP at (805) 520-8744, ext. 109.
