Free workshop on slashing college costs

A free workshop for the parents of college-bound high school students on financing college will be at 7:30 p.m. Wed., May 3 at the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon in Simi Valley.

The program will present little-known ways to get money for college, regardless of income or grades. Topics will include how to double or triple eligibility

for free grant money, the secret of financing a private or UC school for less than the cost of a community college, or the single biggest mistake most parents make when planning for college.

The workshop leader is Ali Diebel, expert in college financial planning.
