Tutors sought to help adults improve reading

A training session will begin soon for volunteers interested in tutoring adults for the Ventura County Library's Adult Literacy Program. Tutors are needed for adults on waiting lists in Simi Valley and Camarillo.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Reading Program may attend a two-hour orientation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., April 6 at the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon, Simi Valley.

Tutor training consists of three three-hour sessions on Thursdays, April 20 and 27 and May 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Simi Valley Library.

The training and materials are free. The tutoring time commitment is one to three hours per week.
