Former Simi Valley teacher to retire

Former Simi Valley teacher Barbara (Chaudhuri) Weber, PhD will retire June 9 after 35 years of teaching. A party will be hosted for her on May 17 at her current place of employment, Bear Valley Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska, where she teaches gifted students.

Weber previously taught at St. Mary's Elementary School in East Los Angeles and worked in Los Angeles City Unified School District Children's Centers from 1969 to 1974. In 1975 she moved to Simi Valley and taught in the Simi Valley Unified School District until 1995. Weber worked in the gifted pull-out program, taught grades four and six at Big Springs Elementary School, grades four and six at Park View Elementary School, and kindergarten and grades one, three, four, five and six at Sycamore Elementary School.
