ACCIDENT ODDS- Lt. Roy Jones, commander of the Simi Valley Police Department traffic unit, addresses the neighborhood council joint chairs meeting. As part of his recent presentation, Jones informed the council that first-year drivers are four times as likely to have an accident as other drivers. In an upcoming city council meeting, the police department will recommend that the city of Simi Valley adopt the Sheriff's Teen Traffic Offender Program (STTOP), in which residents may report dangerous driving habits.
