Budding artists and those interested in seeing art being created are invited to watch watercolor artist Phyllis Doyon paint two landscapes from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fri., March 17 at the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley.

A drawing will be held to present an audience member with a Doyon painting.

The event is sponsored by the Simi Valley Art Association. A $5 donation is requested from nonmembers.

Doyon’s work is widely exhibited in Ventura County galleries and known in Nevada and Arizona art circles. Hers is a “no fear” approach using “juicy” colors in a bold style depicting flowers and landscapes. She emphasizes sparkle and life in interpreting her subjects.
