Paint Horse Club presents awards

The Greater Los Angeles Paint Horse Club hosted its annual awards banquet on Feb. 21 at Paul’s Italian Villa in Simi Valley.

Susanne Cherry of Simi Valley took home an embroidered blanket for her yearling filly, Embezzlement, winning the yearling fillies halter class.

Taurie Banks of Fillmore won an English saddle for her accomplishments with her horse, Tribal King. They won the open jumpers, green working hunters and the senior horse hunter hack classes.

Jackie Weatherman of Simi Valley received two engraved silver belt buckles for her wins with her yearling amateur gelding, Real Sure to Impress, and am embroidered jacket for her win with her amateur mare, Shez Pass N Tradition.

Dana Canfield and Bonnie Bennett, also of Simi Valley, won the yearling stallion award with their horse, Cool Encountered.

The club is planning an open horse show in Simi Valley later this year, as well as the large Paint Horse show in Burbank in August.
