Thunderbirds musician to perform in Ventura

The musician known as Kid Ramos, who helped revitalize the Fabulous Thunderbirds band, will perform a Swing Blues Concert at 8 p.m. Sat., Nov. 5 at Serra Center, 211 E. Main St., Ventura (behind the San Buenaventura Mission). Ramos is described by Ann Willard-Bevans of the Ventura Music Festival, the concert’s sponsor, as “a muscular, pompadoured, Elvis-era-looking guitar hero, a man of the ’90s who looks and plays like a kid from the ’50s, and will be appearing with a few of his good friends.”

His appearance is part of the Ventura AuthentiCity Weekend and is geared to fans of ’50s blues, rhythm and blues and soul. Tickets are $37 and available by calling (805) 648-3146.
