Robinsons-May to host Charity Preview Day at Simi Valley Town Center Mall

Robinsons-May is inviting local nonprofit organizations and schools to participate in the Charity Preview Day fundraiser to be held at the October grand opening of its new store in the Town Center Mall in Simi Valley. The preview day will be scheduled one day before the new mall officially opens.

The event is a 13-hour shopping celebration. The Charity Preview Day shopping ticket allows the purchaser to use an all-day shopping pass valid on most items in the new store during preview day. Ticket holders may also enter for a chance to win a $1,000 Robinsons-May shopping spree and various cosmetic giveaways. The store will provide live music, entertainment and refreshments during the event.

Schools and nonprofit organizations will be selling preview day tickets for $5 each. The charity or school keeps 100 percent of proceeds from the ticket sales. Tickets will go on sale at a kick-off lunch in Simi Valley on July 28.

According to Jacquie Richardson, event coordinator, nearly 50 nonprofit organizations have already responded.

“Robinsons-May Charity Preview Days historically bring in excess of $80,000 to community organizations, and I think Simi Valley will do even better because we’ve been waiting so long for our mall,” Richardson said.
