BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers PRESENTS FOR SENIORS—Judy Dwyer and Emerald Jones are having a blast as they wrap gifts for seniors at the Simi Valley Care Center. Through a Council on Aging program called Santa for a Senior, an item that a senior citizen needs is written on a Christmas tree ornament that’s placed on a tree. An organization or business, such as the Simi Valley Wal-Mart, sponsors the tree. A shopper buys the item and it’s eventually returned to the Council on Aging, which wraps the gift and presents it to the senior citizen. For further information, please call (805) 577-0926.
