Veterans to be honored at community park ceremony
Veterans Day will be commemorated in a ceremony open to the public at 11 a.m. Fri., Nov. 11 at Rancho Tapo Community Park, 3700 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley.
More than 135 new donor names will be dedicated at this service. Each name represents a veteran whose family chose to honor him or her for their service to our country.
The duration of the ceremony will be under one hour. Some chairs will be provided, but visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs in the event that attendance exceeds the designated seating capacity.
This event is sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Simi Valley Post No. 10049, Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 55 of Simi Valley, Marine Corps League Detachment No. 597 of Ventura County, Simi Valley Elks Lodge No. 2492 and Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.
