Exceptional youth honored

ONE OF THE ‘VERY BEST’— David  Coons,  a  13-year-old from  Simi Valley,  receives  a certificate  from  Mayor Paul Miller  at  a  recent  city  council meeting. David was one of 24 youths, out of 600 candidates across the U. S., who received an  award  in  the  Nestle Very Best in Youth Program. Those recognized  are  exceptional young people, ages 10 to 18, who’ve  shown  academic excellence and made tangible contributions to the quality of life in their communities.  David raised over $26,000 for victims of  Hurricane  Katrina,  funds that will be matched by Nestle.
