The church is a daughter congregation of Saddleback Church, founded by Pastor Rick Warren in Orange County. The public is invited to attend. The service will be a celebration with contemporary music and worship, including a fivepiece band, practical Bible instruction, and teaching and fun for children. Love Wins is a Christian church embracing the historic teachings of Christ as found in the Bible. The church recently began a Bible study in the home of Pastors Dave and Carrie Page, former residents of Simi Valley. Dave graduated from Simi High School and coached sophomore basketball at Moorpark High School one year after graduating from Westmont College. Carrie is an alumna of Royal High School. The couple returned to Moorpark from Sacramento, where they started a church and served for 10 years. Ever since graduate school Dave dreamed of starting a church. “So to be able to plant a church in my own backyard is a dream come true,” he said. Many Moorpark residents attend churches in other cities. The Pages have a vision of building a regional church that will serve the Moorpark, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks communities. The name of the new church comes from the story of Jesus and the cross. The cross is God’s way of saying, “Love Wins.” “It’s His story, it’s our story and it can be your story too,” the Pages said. Love Wins Church seeks to be a community of believers devoted to walking by faith, to be a voice of hope and to be known by their love. “We like to say that we are ‘the perfect church for people who aren’t.’ We welcome people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. We want to share the love and hope of God,” the Pages said. For more information, please call (805) 433-5400 or visit the website www.lovewins.com. |
