Golf Classic to benefit Childhood Cancer Foundation
The 6th Annual Paul Sutton Charity Golf Classic, in memory of Simi Valley resident and long-time Providence High School Athletic Director Paul Sutton, is scheduled for Sat., Oct. 29 at Tierra Rejada Golf Club, 15187 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark.
The tournament will benefit the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a putting contest at 11:15 a.m. and shotgun start at 1 p.m. An awards dinner follows at 6 p.m.
The entry fee is $150, which includes greens fee, cart with GPS scoring, on-course contests, range balls, lunch and dinner. The cost for dinner only is $50.
Sponsorship opportunities are available from $200 to $1,500.
Donated items for raffle and auction are also needed.
Previous tournaments raised $35,000 for research for infants, children and young adults with cancer.
Sutton’s widow, Dana, is chairing the event. The Sutton family—Dana, children Alison and Nate, Paul’s mother, sister and extended family—are all involved in organizing the tournament. Eighth-grader Nate will again play in the tournament.
Sutton died of cancer in 1999.
Reservations are required to play in the golf tournament and/ or to participate in the banquet.
