Dole Nutrition Institute to sponsor women’s health forum
Dole Nutrition Institute and the Women’s Health Group of the Thousand Oaks branch of the American Association of University Women will sponsor a women’s health forum from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 8, on the Cal State Channel Islands campus in Camarillo. With the theme “Preventive Medicine: Living Longer and Healthier,” the event will feature experts in the healthcare industry presenting cutting-edge information on health topics of interest to women.
Keynote speaker Dr. Rukhsana Aratsu from the Dole Nutrition Institute will give a presentation on “Proper Nutrition and Prevention” and the underconstruction Dole Wellness Center, Spa and Hotel.
After a continental breakfast, participants will attend three breakout health sessions of their choice. Presentations include: Acupuncture and Its Use in the Treatment of Women’s Health Issues; Women and Heart Disease: New Wives’ Tales; Preventive Dentistry for You and Your Child; Fertility and Our Biological Time Clock; Massage for Health and More; Transplantation and Organ Donation—Give and Let Live; Taking Care of Your Bones; What You Should Know About Parkinson’s; Ounces of Prevention for the Pint-Size; General Foot Problems—Causes and Treatments; and Yoga: Opening the Body, Mind, and Spirit.
Dr. Nazila Eshraghi, who practices podiatry in Ventura County, is a featured speaker at the event and will offer advice on how to keep women on their feet.
