The Simi Valley Department of Community Services is noti

fying property owners within the city to remove tumbleweeds, weeds or debris on their land. Abatement programs reduce vermin and fire risks.

Weeds and debris must be removed no later than Fri., Oct. 28, before the overgrowth becomes a nuisance and hazard.

Simi Valley city officials said they appreciate the cooperation of property owners to remove all rubbish and combustible vegetation.
