‘Songs From the Tall Grass’ to premiere at Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center presents the West Coast premiere of a new musical, “Songs From the Tall Grass,” Sat., Sept. 24 through Sun., Oct. 30 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.
Performances are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees.

“Songs From the Tall Grass,” with music and lyrics by Randy Hale and book by Michael Ross, Phoef Sutton, Emily Corey and Randy Hale, is an inspiring story of a family’s exploration of their heritage via a trip from their home in California to their roots in Oklahoma.
The play weaves an interlocking collection of stories that bring immigrant pioneers from worlds apart in contact with fur trappers and Native Americans.
The ensemble cast consists of Hale, Paul Bartlett, Michael German, Ryan Neely, Michele McRae, Liz Stockton, Callie Gray, Sara Pulsipher, Hayley Cariker, Chase Snyder, Kyle Hampson, Austin Miller and Michael Brown.

David Ralphe, with musical direction by Paul Taylor, vocal direction by Bonnie Graeve, choreography by Dani Brown, costume design by Randon Pool, and scenic and lighting design by Christian West.
