Volunteers with rheumatoid arthritis sought
2005-07-22 / Health & Wellness
A UCLA-led research team seeks 80 volunteers with rheumatoid arthritis for a study comparing the effects of tai chi chih versus relaxation therapy on a patient’s ability to cope with rheumatoid arthritis and the effect of these treatments on the severity and progression of the disease.
Eligible participants will be randomly placed into either a 12week tai chi chih or relaxation therapy class. Tai chi chih features slow repetitive movements, relaxation and a meditative focus intended to improve health and well-being.
All medical evaluations and classes are free. Participants will receive up to $150 in compensation to help offset expenses. For more information, call (310) 206-3257.
