The Simi Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is sponsoring four girls for Tech Trek, a weeklong math and science camp for girls entering eighth grade, to be held from July 17 through 23 at UC San Diego.

The $700 scholarships were awarded to Jillian Beccera and Megan Afertian of Valley View, Daniella Berbel of Sinaloa and Jessica Brough of Hillside.

The girls were nominated by their math or science teachers. A panel of AAUW members conducted interviews and each girl wrote a brief essay.
