North Park opponents to host rally on Saturday

2005-07-01 / Letters

Join us and other concerned residents regarding the negative impact of the proposed North Park Village project, a proposal to build 1,680 houses on 3,586 acres north of Moorpark College in the Santa Susana Mountains.

The local nonprofit organization Save Open Space-Santa Susana Mountains will be hosting a Public Awareness Day this Saturday at Tierra Rejada Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., corner of Mountain Trail and Tierra Rejada Road. Your neighbors will be discussing the issues, viewing maps and sharing information.

Did you know all registered voters can vote no on this project?

Fortunately, the land is subject to

the SOAR (Save Open Space and

Agricultural Resources) law. You

have the right to vote no on North

Park.

Three major negative impacts

include increased traffic on all

major roads and freeways, over

crowding at Moorpark High

School and degrading our over

all quality of life.

Remember in 1999, the voters

of Moorpark rejected the Hidden

Creek Ranch project at this same

location because they understood how much Ventura County’s open spaces contribute to our quality of life. We can do this again.

If you cannot attend the public awareness day but would like more information, contact us at StopNorthPark@yahoo.com or call (805) 523-7913. Janet Murphy Co-chair, Save Open SpaceSanta Susana Mountains
