Tickets available for Ojai Wine Festival

2005-05-13 / Community

The Ojai Wine Festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sun., June 12 at Lake Casitas. More than 40 wineries have announced that they will pour at the festival.

Ten local restaurants will offer food at reasonable prices. Guests may dine under shaded picnic tables or eat on a knoll overlooking the stage and Lake Casitas. Tom Thumb and the Hitchikers, an 11-piece rock and soul review, will entertain.

Ojai Valley artists and crafts persons will display and sell their works. Children can play in the fenced and supervised play area.

Wine Festival co-chair Kat Tansey advises buying tickets online or by phone. "Advance ticket buyers get the advance sale price of $25 instead of the $35 gate price on the day of the event."

The ticket price pays for admission to the festival grounds, all entertainment, nine tasting tickets and a souvenir wine glass. Beer lovers can use their tasting tickets and glass at the exhibition tent for brewers and microbreweries.

Advance tickets of $25 are available at www.ojaiwinefestival.com, or by calling (800) 648-4881. A $2 handling charge is added to telephone and mail orders. Tickets at the gate will be $35. Children under 16 years are free when accompanied by a paid adult. Parking at the site is $3.

"This is our 19th annual Ojai Wine Festival," said Mike Caldwell, president of the sponsoring Rotary Club of Ojai-West. "You can’t beat the combination of good wine, food, music and fun in such a beautiful setting on the shores of Lake Casitas."

The Ojai Wine Festival is a fundraising event of the Rotary Club of Ojai-West to support many humanitarian and community projects.
