Businesses cited for alcohol sales violations

Between April 7 and 13, the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Problems Section conducted an undercover investigation to help curb sales of alcoholic beverages to minors.

The 18-year-old undercover police decoy attempted to purchase alcohol at 21 locations throughout the city. Arrests were made at Belwood Liquor, 4435 Alamo St., and Stearns Mobil, 5195 Cochran St. The arrestees, both employees, were released after being issued a misdemeanor citation.

The names of the establishments will be forwarded to the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control . They may face sanctions ranging from a fine to suspension or revocation of their liquor license.
