Habitat for Humanity plans May fundraising event

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County will present its third annual fundraising event, Humanity Family Fun Day, featuring run, walk, ride and glide activities beginning 9:30 a.m. Sat., May 21 at Rancho Simi Community Park, on the corner of Royal Avenue and Erringer Road in Simi Valley.

A carnival will open at 11 a.m. Families are invited to help support Habitat whose goal is to eliminate poverty-level housing and homelessness in Ventura County. Planned are 5K and 10K runs, which include walkers and gliders. There’s also a 25-mile bike ride, carnival booths and food vendors. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Later that evening, Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County will host a fundraising dinner, "Habitat for Humanity to the Max" at 6:30 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village. The event will feature dinner and a silent auction.
