For the sixth consecutive year, Julie and Hayim Abulafia will be providing junior year scholarships for students transferring from Moorpark College to a CSU or UC university.

Last year, almost one-third of the applicants received a scholarship.

The Abulafia Scholarships are not based on GPA scores or financial need. Instead, they provide tuition for the junior year for those students whose drive, focus, persistence and stability will help them complete their first transfer year successfully.

Those qualities are determined by a faculty nomination letter and a personal essay from the applicant.

The submission deadline is Mon., April 4.
