Police arrested a motorist for a hit-and-run offense at 11:40 a.m. Jan. 24 on Chandler at Cochran.

At 5:20 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 2200 block of Knight Court, authorities arrested a suspect for battery.

Someone was detained for spousal battery, vandalism and challenging to fight at 4:20 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 1800 block of Yosemite.

A suspect committed assault with a deadly weapon at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 22 on Arcane at Erringer.

At 1:10 a.m. Jan. 22 on Valley Fair at Winifred, a vandal caused under $400 in damages to someone’s property.

Someone tried to rob Denny’s restaurant in the 2400 block of Sycamore Drive at 4:10 a.m. Jan. 21. After using a gun to take money, a K-9 unit found and caught him. The suspect received a minor dog bite wound.

An Hispanic male described as being 6’ to 6’ 2" tall, weighing 180 to 190 pounds and wearing all dark clothing robbed the business and fled at 6:10 a.m. Jan. 21 at Carl’s Jr. in the 5700 block of Los Angeles Avenue. The loss wasn’t reported.

Between 4:15 p.m. Jan. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 21 at Royal High School in the 1400 block of Royal Avenue, unknown suspects stole cash and checks from a safe. The loss wasn’t reported.

Authorities took someone into custody for domestic violence at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 2400 block of Cochran Street.

At 4:45 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 2600 block of Sycamore Drive, police arrested a suspect for armed robbery, burglary and resisting an officer.

A thief was taken into custody at 8:15 p.m. Jan. 21 at Mervyn’s store in the 2800 block of Cochran Street.

Between 3 a.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 21 in the 900 block of Hudspeth, the loss was $6,000 as a result of grand theft. A diamond ring was stolen.

At 8:45 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 3800 block of Merril Court, a suspect was detained for domestic violence.

On the night of Jan. 20 in the 100 block of West Easy Street, the loss was $10,880 when cash and some miscellaneous items were stolen.

Hockey equipment that cost $23,720 was stolen on the night of Jan. 20 in the 100 block of West Easy Street.

At 4:30 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 2300 block of Kuehner Drive, police arrested a suspect for vehicle theft.

Between Jan. 19 and Jan. 25, the following items were reported in the community: 16 incidents of possession of a controlled substance, three incidents of illegal drug intoxication, three incidents of public intoxication, one incident of driving under the influence and one incident of possession of a deadly weapon.
