Flood victims to receive aid
The Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) and the United Way of Ventura County have announced distribution of $8,500 in grants to two organizations that are helping the victims of the recent flooding and mudslides in Ventura County.
The grants, which include contributions from the general public, the United Way and the VCCF Special and Urgent Needs Fund, are being made to the American Red Cross and to the Human Services Agency of the county of Ventura to provide housing assistance for families affected by the recent storms.
The American Red Cross was granted $4,500, which will provide housing relocation assistance to three families in affected areas. The county’s Human Services Agency was granted $4,000 for support to families who need assistance to cover rent and/or moving expenses because their current housing has been assessed as unlivable.
