B’nai Emet offers adult Jewish ed classes
Two adult Jewish education classes open to the public are being offered this month at Congregation B’nai Emet, 4645 Industrial St., 2-C, Simi Valley.
"Introduction to Judaism," taught by Rabbi Michele Paskow, is an overview of Jewish holidays, life-cycle events, home and daily life, ideologies of major branches of Judaism, ethics and prayers. Classes are Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. over a five-week period beginning Jan. 26. Cost is $60 for congregants and $75 for nonmembers.
Religious School Administrator Meridith Patera will teach "The Writings," a class exploring puzzling questions in the scriptures. Classes are Monday from 7:40 to 9 p.m. over five weeks beginning Jan. 24. Cost is $50 for congregants, $65 for nonmembers and half-price for high school and college students.
