Metamorphoses coming to Cal Lutheran stage
2004-10-29 / On The Town
California Lutheran University’s Mainstage Theatre will perform an adaptation of Ovid’s "Metamorphoses" at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 6 and at 2 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 7.
The Preus-Brandt Forum stage will be transformed into a giant pool of water, which serves as the setting for Tony award-winner Mary Zimmerman’s triumphant production based on Ovid’s play by the same name.
Zimmerman’s "Metamorphoses" brings classic myths into contemporary relevance through language and image to raise storytelling to the highest art form.
The play is directed by Kevin P. Kern.
General admission is $8; free with CLU I.D. For tickets and information, call the CLU Drama Department at (805) 493-3415.
