At 6:30 p.m., Aug. 1 in the 1500 block of Deodora Street, authorities took two suspects into custody for battery.

A suspect assaulted another person with a deadly weapon at 3 a.m. Aug. 1 in the 1500 block of Patricia.

A person was reported for cruelty to a child at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 1800 block of Madera Road.

Between 10 p.m. July 31 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 1 in the 2600 block of Stearns Street, vandals broke a window on a garage door and stole some cash, 25 cartons of cigarettes and 50 Lotto scratchers. The total loss was $6,985.

The loss was $360 when a lady’s purse was stolen between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 31 in the 3000 block of Sycamore Drive.

At 11:15 a.m. July 30 in the 600 block of Easy Street, a person committed corporal injury to a child.

Between 3:45 p.m. July 29 and 10 a.m. July 30 in the 3500 block of Texas Avenue, a thief stole a computer notebook, a digital camera, some cash and some other items that totaled $2,050

Between 11 p.m. July 29 and 8 a.m. July 30 in the 1600 block of Emeric Avenue, the loss was $665 when several miscellaneous items were stolen.

A suspect stole a portable DVD player, four DVDs, a videocassette, a cell phone and a boogie board between 6:30 p.m. July 29 and 8:20 a.m. July 30 in the 1100 block of Tivoli Lane. The total loss, including damages, was $935.

The loss was $12,070 when a thief stole a guitar, a turntable, a TV and a microwave between 12 p.m. July 1 and 5:30 p.m. July 29 in the 4500 block of East Los Angeles Avenue.

A purse and its contents were stolen between 1 and 8 a.m. July 28 in the 8400 block of Maricopa. The reported loss was $925.

Between July 28 and Aug. 3, the following items were reported in the community: four incidents of possession of a controlled substance, two incidents of driving under the influence, two incidents of public intoxication and one incident of possession of a deadly weapon.
