The Simi Valley Branch of the National League of American Pen women, Inc. has selected Susan Deutsch-Salva of Simi Valley to be the recipient of their Woman of Achievement Award. On Mon., June 14, the Pen Women will honor Deutsch-Salva with a plaque commemorating this honor.

Deutsch-Salva is a past secretary for the branch and leads a writers’ critique group for Pen Women. She is a freelance writer who has written several articles for the Ventura County Star’s Opinion section and is a staff writer for both Rockzone.com and West Coast Rockers and is presently writing a book. In addition, she has been active in community service with the Rancho Simi Park and Recreation District as well as the Disabled American Veterans.
