Kandice Campisi and Matthew Myers

Kandice Campisi, 23, the daughter of Michael and Cynthia Campisi of Simi Valley, will wed Matthew Myers, 27, the son of Jay and Barbara Myers of Oak Park, on Sat., May 22.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Simi Valley High School. The prospective groom is an Oak Park High School graduate.

The two attend California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, where they are working on obtaining their teaching credentials. Both Campisi and Myers hope to become elementary school teachers. They met while working at the Simi Valley YMCA in 2001 at summer camp.

Currently they both work for the Conejo Valley Unified School District’s after-school enrichment program. Campisi, who has been with the district for two years, is a child-care leader working in the kindergarten and afternoon program at Weathersfield Elementary School.

Myers has been with the district for six years and works as a child-care assistant in the afternoon program at Acacia Elementary School.
