Hospital foundation picks Adams
Lorri Adams
Simi Valley Hospital has named Lorri Adams the new executive director of the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation. She assumed her new role on Feb. 12.
Adams spent the last 12 years as a consultant with Jackson & Associates of Evergreen, Colorado, working with healthcare organizations, religious groups and other not-for-profit community foundations throughout the northern plains states.
During the preceding decade, Adams was the executive director of YMCAs in Wichita, Kan., Orlando, Fla., and Redding, Calif. Fund-raising was a key responsibility in her leadership of those organizations.
"I am not the face of our fund-raising activities," Adams said. "The board members, hospital staff and community residents who offer their time, energy and financial support are the foundation and face of our campaigns."
Adams said that her most important role, at least while she is still new to the area, is to provide a "blueprint" for raising funds: the strategies and structures that will bring contributions into the hospital.
In the year ahead, Adams said she hopes to help the Foundation raise $500,000 to support the new Patient Care Tower project. Ultimately, her goal for the Foundation is to provide $15 million to furnish the building and purchase state-of-the-art equipment to support enhanced services offered by the hospital.
"The Foundation is more than just raising funds," Adams said. "We are out there to tell the story of the hospital, to expand upon what the hospital has done in the past and will do in the future.
"We are a hospital that delivers healthcare services and programs to the best of our ability with compassionate care. Because we touch lives through caring, the Foundation will encourage giving to life and a lifetime of giving."
