Results of the nationwide U.S. Academic Decathlon show that Simi Valley High School earned the fourth highest overall score in the nation in the recently completed county-level portion of the competition.
Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Charles Weis, Ph.D., recently commended the decathletes and Coach Debbi Mjoen of the Simi Valley High School team, as well as all 24 teams that participated in the Ventura County Academic Decathlon, for their commitment to academic excellence.
At this point, based on county competition scores, California has the top five ranked academic decathlon teams and 14 of the top 25 teams in the nation.
