The Village Voices Chorale is offering scholarships for serious music students who wish to pursue a career in vocal music. Applicants need to show a strong academic record, an outstanding music background as well as letters of recommendation from a music specialist.

Monetary grants are also awarded yearly to elementary schools in the community as the Chorale is actively involved in the support and encouragement of choral music programs.

Applications will be mailed to elementary schools in February. Individuals may obtain an application by calling Bob Kracker, president of the Chorale, at (805) 497-9692 or by going to Internet Website at www.villagevoiceschorale.org. Deadline for applications is March 15. Scholarship winners and selected schools will be chosen in April.

The Chorale will also be inviting two choral groups to perform at their June 4 and 5 concerts in the Scherr Forum Theater at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
