April and May hikes for all ages scheduled at Happy Camp and Sage Ranch

The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority recently announced the following hikes for Happy Camp in Moorpark and Sage Ranch in Simi Valley. Hikers should wear boots and bring binoculars, lunch and two to three quarts of water per person. There is no charge for the hikes. The parking fee is $3.

Family Activity Hike is an easy three- to four-mile hike to the spring and Cathedral Grove from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays April 23 and May 21 at Happy Camp. Hikers will meet at the golf course parking lot.

Spring Wildflowers is an easy-to-moderate 2.6-mile, 100-foot-elevation hike from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sun., April 24 at Sage Ranch. Hikers will meet at the park entrance.

A three-mile Mother’s Day Spring Wildflowers hike from 9 a.m. to noon Sat., May 7 at Happy Camp. Hikers will meet at the golf course parking lot.

The May Spring Wildflowers is an easy 2.5-mile, 50-foot-elevation hike from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sat., May 21 at Sage Ranch. Hikers will meet at the park entrance.
