Festival to celebrate India

The India Friends Association will present its annual fundraiser, "Archana ’05," on Sat., April 30 in the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. A reception will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the entertainment to get underway at 6 p.m. The $30 cost includes sampling Indian food.

With the theme "Fairs and Festivals of India," the event will feature a program of classical Indian dance, comedy and music plus an exhibit of students’ artwork depicting their impressions of India.

India Friends Association is a Ventura County-based organization that provides assistance to grassroots groups in India involved in the struggle against poverty.
