Students honored

Dereem McKinney of Simi Valley was selected by her classmates as Senior of the Year at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

McKinney, a liberal studies major who spent a semester studying in Australia, has been an active participant in student government and in athletics (volleyball and track) during her four years at CLU. A recent scholarship recipient and last fall’s Homecoming Queen, McKinney plans to get her teaching credential and prepare for a career in education.
